Hey, I'm Jacques, a cinematographer from Cape Town, South Africa

I grew up camping, and I've spent time in the bush since I was two years old. It gave me a love for wildlife and for remote, almost surreal places. Africa still has so much raw natural beauty, whether that's an empty landscape with no buildings in sight or a bird taking off from a tree. I've been fortunate enough to not only experience it, but to photograph so much of it as well.

My work as a cinematographer has taken me further. Years embedded in the heart of the Cross Country Mountain Bike Racing scene has taken me all over Europe and the Americas where I fell in love with photographing cities and urban scenes, often simply on my iPhone.

For years I've been adding to this growing catalog of images but never had enough time to really do anything with them, so finally getting this off the ground feels pretty amazing.
